Our 100-Day Field-Tested Guarantee

We design gear to survive the Canadian Rockies. If it doesn't meet your expectations, we want it back. Boreal Outfitters offers an industry-leading 100-Day Field-Tested Guarantee. We want you to take our gear out, get it dirty, test it in the wind and snow, and see if it holds up. If a seam fails, a zipper snags, or it simply doesn't fit your adventure style, you have 100 days to return or exchange it.

Standard Conditions for Return

  • New & Unused Gear: Can be returned anytime within the 100-day window for a full refund to your original payment method. Must include all tags.
  • Field-Tested Gear (Used): If you've used the gear and it didn't perform, you can return it within 100 days for store credit or an exchange. We recycle or repair returned used gear to minimize environmental impact.
  • Final Sale Items: For extreme safety and hygiene reasons, load-bearing climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners), base layers/underwear, and trail food cannot be returned once purchased.

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Visit our Returns Portal and enter your Order Number and Postal Code.
  2. Select the items you wish to return and tell us why (we use this data to improve our gear).
  3. Print the prepaid Canada Post return label.
  4. Box up your gear securely and drop it off at any Canada Post location.
  5. Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days of the gear arriving at our Banff warehouse.

Remote Returns: Yukon, NWT, & Nunavut

Living in the Far North shouldn't mean jumping through hoops to get the right gear. We understand that returning a package from Iqaluit or Whitehorse isn't as simple as driving to the local mall.

  • Extended Return Window: For all orders shipped to YT, NT, and NU, we automatically extend the Field-Tested Guarantee to 150 days to account for seasonal shipping delays and extreme weather logistics.
  • Free Northern Return Labels: Unlike many retailers who pass exorbitant northern freight costs onto the customer, we cover 100% of return shipping from the territories. Your printable label will be pre-paid for air transit where required.
  • Drop-off Alternatives: If you are in a fly-in community without a standard post office, contact our dedicated Northern Support Desk. We will coordinate directly with local bush pilots or freight forwarders (like Canadian North Cargo) to retrieve your return at our expense.
  • Advance Exchanges: Can't afford to wait 3 weeks for an exchange to process while the short summer season ticks away? Call us. We'll ship your replacement item immediately while your return is still in transit.

We believe in sustainability over replacing. Every Boreal Outfitters branded product comes with a Lifetime Repair Warranty. Did a bear rip your tent? Did you melt the sleeve of your jacket by the campfire? Don't throw it away.

Ship your damaged gear to our Banff Repair Shop. Our expert seamstresses and technicians will patch, stitch, and waterproof it back to life.

Fair Pricing

Manufacturing defects are repaired absolutely free. For damage caused by extreme wear-and-tear or accidents, we charge a nominal fee strictly covering the cost of materials and labor.
